North Kore Trade

North Korea Trade

Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) does not publish its international trade statistics, and it is even unknown that the country has systematically gather statistics.
We have built a database entitled "North Korea Trade (referred to hereinafter as NKT)" by investigating international trade with DPRK , based on customhouse statistics of over 200 countries (and regions) which are trade partner of DPRK.
"NKT" is an SQL database with which you can search when, with which country, in what merchandise and in what amount and quantity North Korea dealt.

The statistics are categorized by HS codes which are an international standard, and you can search detailed information up to six HS code digits (approximately 5,500 items).
"NKT" consists of the data obtained by investigating international trade with North Korea, based on customhouse statistics of countries across the world, however, some developing countries at times may have recorded international trade transactions with countries other than North Korea as transactions with North Korea.

(For example, although the India's customhouse statistics says that the country imported approximately two million cell phones from North Korea in 2006, it is suspected that the transactions were confused with transactions with South Korea.)
It is understood that two Koreas (North Korea and South Korea) were mixed up when some countries processed their customhouse statistics.
We identify such data, based on preceding academic papers and our unique positive analyses, and marked them so that users can recognize them.
Money values are all given in U.S dollars uniformly.
Three languages, Japanese, English and Korean, are supported.
(Please make a selection.)
We would be very happy if this database could be helpful for whom it may concern.
